Employment expectations weaken in 2024: which sector will offer the greatest job opportunity?

After the announcement of Ministry of Economy that the country was in economic recession, one of the areas of concern is the labor aspect. In this context, a recent ManpowerGroup employment survey found that for the first quarter of 2024, the expectation of job hiring will have a decrease of 11%, compared to the last months of 2023.

Daniel Galdos, ManpowerGroup Perú commercial manager, points out that “when the MEF confirmed that we are in recession, naturally all companies began to have certain safeguards, especially in hiring talent. “We didn’t have that the previous quarter or the previous year.”

In this context, the ManpowerGroup employment survey detailed that the employment sectors energy and public services are those that will have the greatest demand for employment, with 64%, and they are followed by the finance and real estate sector, with 40%.

What type of companies hire the most?

The study also stated that the A large company is the one with the greatest capacity to hire workers, registering 39%, second place is held by the medium-sized company with 37%.
