This Saturday, December 30, EP Petroecuador reported 80% progress in the repair work on the Sacha-Lago Agrio secondary pipeline, which belongs to the Amazon District pipeline network.
On December 29, a traffic accident occurred when a private freight transport ran into part of this pipeline system, causing a severe fire. This in turn caused the oil spill.
Then Petroecuador had to stop pumping crude oil through this line and sent technical personnel to the area to mitigate the event.
