The truck market in Ecuador experienced a minimal contraction in 2023. From January to November 2023, 22,198 of this type of vehicle were sold, while 22,530 were sold in the same period last year, according to data from the Association of Automobile Companies of Ecuador (Aeade).
The figures follow the trend of the light car market (trucks, cars and SUVs), which sold 108,904 vehicles by November 2023, as opposed to 109,500 sold in the same period in 2022.

Chevrolet is the best-selling brand with 8,916 units in the given time frame. They recorded an increase in sales, as they recorded 6,934 trucks sold in the same period in 2022. Great Wall is the second best-selling brand in 2023, with 2,452.
Out of a total of 22,198 trucks sold this year, ten models stand out as the most affordable, and their prices vary between 12,990 and 26,990 dollars.
Those that are cheaper have a larger amount of cargo, indicating that these types of vehicles are mainly tools for work in sectors such as agriculture and services.
