The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) approved the regulations of Law No. 31602, which establishes that workers have the right to leave for the death of family members. The measure seeks to protect the rights of those who are going through very difficult times such as loss of a loved one.
This proposal was approved by the Plenary Session of the Congress of the Republic on September 22, 2022 and promulgated by the Executive Branch in November of the same year. Finally, the Supreme Decree that approves the Regulation of Law No. 31602 was published in the newspaper El Peruano on December 24, 2023.
