Dollar closes the day lower and is trading at S/3.6850 this Friday, December 22

The dollar closed the day this Friday, December 22, lower and stood at S/3.6850, which meant a decline of 0.22% compared to Thursday’s close when it was quoted at S/3.6930, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP). So far this year the currency has accumulated a variation of -3.20%.

At 2.00 pm the US currency in the parallel market It was quoted at S/3,670 for the purchase and S/3,700 for the sale. While in the banking market The purchase amounted to S/3.6520 and the sale amounted to S/3.7150 at the counters of the Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP).

Internationally, according to information from Reuters, the dollar hit a nearly five-month low after data showed that annual US inflation slowed further to below 3% in November. This cements market expectations of a US interest rate cut next March.
