Business Report, the EL UNIVERSO magazine published on December 21 among newspaper subscribers, presents the Top 100 Merco companies and leaders with the best reputation in Ecuador.

The Merco rank (Business monitor of corporate reputation) is supported by Research Analysis of Spain. With a presence in 15 Latin American countries, year after year it is obtained from research carried out on different interest groups or participantsthe results of which are audited by KPMG.

For the 11th edition, a total of 580 executives from companies with turnover greater than $20 million answered a questionnaire to select a provisional ranking of companies which was then submitted for consideration by experts in various fields.

Corporación Favorita, El Rosado and Santa Priscila lead the list of companies with the highest income in Ecuador

The groups that Merco consults, in addition to company managers, are financial analysts, journalists of economic information, managers of non-governmental organizations, specialists in management systems and university professors in the business field.

Merco Digital is added to the above. Conducted in collaboration with Nethodology, it consists of an analysis of 80,887 company mentions in four different sources of information, namely own channels, digital media, influencers and users.

Merco Sociedad, a survey of more than 1,900 consumers, is also considered; Merco University Talent and Merit Assessment or Benchmarking. This year’s Top 10 companies are: Corporación Favorita, Nestlé, Pronaca, Cervecería Nacional, Holcim, Tía, Produbanco-Grupo Promérica, Paccari, Banco Pichincha and Coca-Cola.

Meanwhile, among the leaders with the best reputation are: Isabel Noboa, Andrew Wright, Luis Bakker, Santiago Peralta, Angelo Caputi, Michel Deller, Roque Sevilla, Fidel Egas, Carla Barbotó and Carlos Cueva González.

This edition publishes the Top 100 in Ibero-America for 2022. For this analysis, all 1,500 companies (even with repetitions) that appeared in each country’s ranking with points obtained during the previous year are included. Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Toyota, Unilever and Google occupy the top five places in the ranking. Merco Iberoamérica results were obtained from 26 information sources and 225,951 surveys.
