Behind this increase in prices is the rise in food prices as a noteworthy note compared to the previous month and supported by the increase in energy prices.
The Consumer price index (IPC) has rebounded in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) until 5 % in November compared to October last year. In Navarra, the rise in the interannual CPI has been greater, up to 5.7%. Behind this rise in prices is the rising energy and food prices.
According to data published this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), prices have risen 0.1% compared to the previous month in the CAV and 0.6% in Navarra.
So far this year, inflation has risen 5.1% in the BAC. By province, Álava registered an interannual CPI of 5.4%, while in Gipuzkoa the increase was 5.1% and in Bizkaia it was 5.0%.
As for the increase compared to October, in Álava it was 0.1%, in Bizkaia it was 0.2% and in Gipuzkoa it remained unchanged.
So far this year, the CPI has also increased in Álava by 5.3%, in Bizkaia by 4.9% and in Gipuzkoa by 5.2%.
Housing and Transportation lead the growth in prices both with respect to November 2020 and so far in 2021. In this way, they recorded year-on-year increases of 17% and 12.8%, respectively, and in the first eleven months of the year of 16 and 11.3%, respectively.
In Spain, inflation rose 0.3% in November compared to the previous month and raised its interannual rate to 5.5%, one tenth above the October rate and its highest level in 29 years.
