Christmas: delivery gift purchases increase by 70% in December

Christmas celebrations are approaching and many citizens are looking for the perfect gift for their loved ones. In that context, the Orders through home delivery have increased by 70% in December compared to the other months of the year, according to Rappi figures.

During this Christmas season, the top 5 most ordered products are cell phones, speakers, roses, vapes and soccer jerseys. Likewise, the categories most requested by customers are technology (21%), flowers and gifts (18%), beauty and personal care (14%), vapes (13%), bookstore (13%), fashion (6%) and others (14%).

It is estimated that the average ticket of Peruvians in Christmas gifts is more than S/200.

“From the e-commerce vertical, we create alliances with more than 2,000 businesses with gift options that include toys, beauty, technology, household items, books, among many others, with just one click. Likewise, they can schedule orders in advance so that they receive it at home and avoid long lines or traffic in the cities,” says Gonzalo Sambra, head of Ecommerce Andina.

On the other hand, according to Marco Lei, head of Turbo for the Andean region, the most consumed products during this Christmas season are the following: Coca Cola and Inca Kola soft drinks; Pilsen and Heineken beers; the panettones D’onofrio, Blanca Flor and Gloria; Inka Chips and Lays snacks; and Kit Kat and Vizzio chocolates.
