Economy Commission will meet this Tuesday the 12th to debate proposals for the withdrawal of AFP

This Tuesday, December 12, the Economy Commission will have a extraordinary session at 2 pm On the agenda, the debate of four opinions has been prioritized. Among them is the proposal of the president of this working group, César Revilla (Fuerza Popular): ‘Law to modernize the Peruvian Pension System’, which includes a limited withdrawal of up to S/9,900 (2 UIT) from AFP funds.

Although congressmen, such as José Luna Galvéz (Vamos Perú), have stated that they do not find a basis to unite both measures, Revilla specified to this medium that legislators will have all the power to request that the issues be separated and an individual evaluation be made.

“If separation is requested and voted on in the debate, it is done. What we have done as a commission is to be as responsible as possible for the entire system and the future of the people, because what (is decided) is going to affect everyone in the next 30 years,” he explained.

What other initiatives have been scheduled?

First of all, the opinion of insistence on the autograph relapsed in Bill No. 3678/2022-CR has been scheduled, which proposes the “Law that establishes interest for refunds of excessive or undue tax payments, for withholdings not applied to the General Sales Tax and updating of fines”.

It is followed by two opinions on the law that promotes the liquidity and integration of the securities market and the modification to the aeronautical law to allow the transfer of ownership of airline tickets. In last place is the proposal to reform the pension system, which brings together more than a dozen bills and includes the authorization to use AFP funds only for the unemployed.
