BCRP: salary payment grew by 7.1% for October 2023

The formal salary mass, that is, the total sum of the salary remunerations ofe electronic payroll increased by 7.1% in October 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year. Furthermore, according to the latest report of the BCRP, the number of digital payments has quintupled in the last seven years. Thus, the National Household Survey reported that banking use has gone from 35% in 2015 to 52% last year.

“In the last two years, the adoption process of digital payments has far exceeded the growth of banking coverage. Thus, as of September of this year, each Peruvian adult made 229 digital payments, a growth of 50% compared to the end of last year,” the entity indicated.
