Christmas bonus for retirees, via ONP: from when can it be collected and how will the disbursement be?

Thanks to an agreement between the ONP and some banking entities, pensioners will have easier access to their money.

With the arrival of the month of December, around 700,000 pensioners belonging to Decree Law 19990 will not only receive the monthly amount they receive for retirement, but also the Pension Normalization Office (ONP) will give them an amount corresponding to the bonus.

To deliver this amount of money to those it corresponds to, a procedure has been established that includes schedules and modality. In this note we share these and more additional data so that pensioners can access their money.

Since when will pensioners access their bonus?

According to the schedule, pension payments through the bank account credit method will be made between Thursday, December 7 and Wednesday, December 13, according to the initial letter of the paternal surname of the insured, according to the following detail:

Decree Law 19990

  1. Thursday, December 7: pensioners with paternal surnames that begin with the letters between A and C.
  2. Monday December 11: pensioners with paternal surnames that begin with the letters between D and L.
  3. Tuesday, December 12: pensioners with paternal surnames that begin with the letters between M and Q.
  4. Wednesday December 13: pensioners with paternal surnames that begin with the letters between R and Z.
  5. Thursday December 14: international agreement; includes pensioners from Law 27803.
  6. From December 13 to 26: home payment.

Decree Law 18846

  1. Credit to bank account: Thursday December 14th.
  2. Home payment (Decree Law 18846): from December 18 to 26.

Decree Law 20530 and pensions on request ONP

  1. Credit to bank account: Thursday December 14th.
  2. Home payment (custom-made pensions): from December 18 to 26.

Law 26790 – pensioners of complementary risk work insurance

  1. Credit to bank account: Thursday December 14th.
  2. Home payment: from December 18 to 26.

Law 30003 – fishing pensioners

  1. Credit to bank account: Thursday December 14th.
  2. Home payment: from December 18 to 26.

How much will retirees receive as a bonus?

As happened in the month of July, in December pensioners who have contributed 20 years or more to the National Pension System receive a bonus that is equivalent to an additional pensionwhich may be delivered in 12 or 14 installments per year.

When do home payments start?

Once the deposits have been made in the bank account, this payment method will be carried out, which will benefit 9,870 pensioners nationwide, of which 6,130 are in Lima. This benefit will be granted from Wednesday, December 13 to Tuesday, the 26th of the same month, and will be allocated to groups formed as follows:

  • South Zone: This first group will receive the payment of their pensions between December 13 and 14 in the districts of Barranco, Chilca, Chorrillos, Lurín, Miraflores, Punta Negra, San Borja, San Isidro, San Juan de Miraflores, Santiago de Surco, Surquillo, Villa El Salvador and Villa María del Triunfo.
  • North Zone: Pensioners included in this second group will receive their pension payment at home on December 15, 16 and 17. It is worth mentioning that the insured domiciled in this area live in Ancón, Bellavista, Callao, Carabayllo, Carmen de la Legua, Comas, Independencia, La Perla, La Punta, Los Olivos, Mi Perú, Magdalena, Pueblo Libre, Puente Piedra, San Martín de Porres, San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa de Quives and Ventanilla.
  • Central Zone: This third group will receive the amount corresponding to their pension and bonus on December 18, 19 and 20. In this sense, the benefited pensioners belong to the districts of Ate, Breña, Chaclacayo, Cieneguilla, El Agustino, Jesús María, La Molina, La Victoria, Lima, Lince, Lurigancho, Pachacámac, Ricardo Palma, Rímac, San Juan de Lurigancho, San Luis, Santa Anita and Santa Eulalia.
