Mónica Saavedra Chumbe is the new head of Sanipes

Through supreme resolution 023-2023-PRODUCE, the Peruvian Government appointed the replacement of Javier Blas, who left Sanipes on October 24 after remaining in office for only 3 days.

Nutritionist Mónica Patricia Saavedra Chumbe is the new executive president of the National Fisheries Health Organization (Sanipes).

Through supreme resolution 023-2023-PRODUCE, the Peruvian Government appointed the replacement of Javier Blas, who left Sanipes on October 24 after remaining in office for only 3 days.

Saavedra Chumbe has a Master’s Degree in Public Nutrition from the La Molina National Agrarian University. She has a master’s degree in Business Administration from ESAN University.

Until before her appointment, Saavedra Chumbe -who returns to Sanipes-, served as General Director of Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production (Produce).

She has also been vice minister of Social Benefits of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) and a regular member of the Single Window for Foreign Trade (2018 – 2019).

Sanipes is the body in charge of investigating, regulating, supervising and supervising the entire production chain to ensure the health and safety of fisheries and aquaculture, through effective and timely health authorization and certification, with the purpose of protecting life and public health.
