The end of the year holidays are approaching and with it the delivery of benefits to workers of the public and private sector. For pensioners and those who work in the State, the Executive Branch approved the regulatory provisions for the delivery of the Christmas bonuswhich will have the amount of 300 soles.
As is known, this benefit is delivered only once in the months December and July. Find out in this note who it will be granted to and when this benefit will be delivered.
Who receives the 2023 bonus?
According to Supreme Decree No. 274-2023-EFthe bonus is awarded to:
- Officials and servants appointed and hired under the labor regime of Legislative Decree No. 276, Law No. 29944 and Law No. 30512
- The university teachers referred to in Law No. 30220
- The health personnel referred to in paragraph 3.2 of article 3 of Legislative Decree No. 1153, permanent and temporary workers in the public sector
- The personnel of the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru
- Pensioners in charge of the State included in the regimes of Law No. 15117, Decree Laws No. 19846 and No. 20530, Supreme Decree No. 051-88-PCM and Law No. 28091
- Workers hired under the Special Labor Regime of Legislative Decree No. 1057 (CAS), within the framework of Law No. 29849, they receive a Christmas Bonus up to the amount of 300 soles.
When do they deposit the December 2023 bonus?
According to Supreme Decree No. 274-2023-EF, this will be paid one time in the December payroll of this year to all workers who meet the requirements. If you want to know when the deposit date is, depending on the institution where you work, you can check it in the following link.
Requirements for the December 2023 bonus
Staff will have the right to receive the Christmas bonus as long as they jointly comply with the following conditions:
- Have been working as of November 30 of this year, or in use of vacation rest, or on paid leave or receiving the subsidies referred to in Law No. 26790, Law of Modernization of Social Security in Health.
- Have been in the service for no less than 3 months as of November 30 of this year. If you do not have the aforementioned period of 3 months, this concept is paid proportionally to the months and days worked.
Bonus 2023: Teachers and part-time workers
In the case of the National Teaching, the bonus is granted to teachers with full working hours an amount of no less than 300 soles. Meanwhile, for employees included in their own career regimes, who work part-time or incomplete working hours, the bonus is applied proportionally to their counterpart who works full-time.
Bonus 2023: medicine interns
For Human Medicine and Dentistry interns, the bonus is 100 soles, within the framework of the provisions of the Second Final Complementary Provision of Emergency Decree No. 016-2020. This bonus will not be subject to social charges.
