How did Margarite operate to execute her pyramid schemes?
The Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) revealed that the method of raising money from the Margarite SAC company consisted of offering citizens the payment of a profitability that ranged between 10 and 12% monthly through the subscription of mutual contracts and financing contracts, related to fictitious investments in gold.
Despite the warnings that the SBS gave to the general manager of said company, to refrain from carrying out these illegal activities, the firm continued to operate under this pyramid scheme in which it deceived people with a supposedly profitable investment in jewelry. This led the SBS to file a criminal complaint with the Public Ministry (MP). This intervention at the offices of Margarite SAC included with the support of the National Police and the MP for the execution of the closure.
