After analyzing the occupancy indicators, the Panamanian airline Copa Airlines will increase its flights from of the Ecuadorian city of Manta in Panama starting March 6, 2024.
Ecuador’s Ministry of Transport and Public Works reported that the airline will fly from four weeks: on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The route currently has three frequencies: Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
High demand from users of this line – which was inaugurated on June 27 – was key to increasing the frequencies of the Panamanian airline.
By October 2023, 11,500 passengers were transported to and from Mantawith an occupancy of more than 87%, details the Tourism portfolio.
The four weekly flights will have the following times: departure from Panama at 15:30 (local time) and arrival in Manta at 17:24 (local time). The flight will depart from Manta at 18:33 (local time) and arrive in Panama at 20:26 (local time).
The Manta – Panama route connects Ecuadorians and foreigners from the new Eloy Alfaro International Airport to Tocumen International Airport in Panama, which is classified as the “hub of the Americas” for its connections to more than 78 destinations across the continent.
Copa do Manta flies with a Boeing 737 aircraft, which, depending on the model, has a transport capacity of between 124 and 160 passengers.
Among foreign airlines, Copa has a significant market share. It is one of those with the highest number of frequencies per week: 28 weekly frequencies from Quito, 35 frequencies from Guayaquil and three from Manta.
