In the period of analysis, nearly 490,000 tourists who visited Peru came from Chile, followed by the United States (391,000), Ecuador (195,000), Colombia (117,000), Brazil (106,00), Bolivia (100,000), Argentina (81,100) , Spain (80,300), Mexico (60,300), among other countries.
On the other hand, between January and October 2023, The departure of 2.4 million Peruvian resident tourists for tourism reasons was recorded, which represented 88.8% of pre-pandemic levels.. Among the main destination countries are Chile (31.8% share), followed by the United States (13.2%), Spain (8.3%), Mexico (7.6%), Colombia (7.4%) and Bolivia (7.0%), according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).
Likewise, the foreign exchange income from incoming tourism amounted to US$2,579 million between January and September of this year, which represents an increase of 24.6% compared to the same period in 2022, but is 28.3% less than in the year 2019.

According to the ComexPerú report, the departments that obtained the greatest influx in their two main tourist attractions were San Martín, LimeIca, Cusco and Arequipabetween January and September 2023.
