The President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, officially appointed Juan Carlos Vega Malo as Minister of Economy and Finance, by Decree 35, this Monday, November 27.
The appointment of Minister Vega comes after the Secretary of State has already performed his duties even without prioritizing in that department, for example, on November 24 he met with the Minister of Energy and Mining Andrea Arrob and the Minister of the Environment, Sade Fritschi, to address the urgent energy situation.
The Minister of Energy, Andrea Arrobo, is already discussing the energy crisis with the Ministers of Environment and Finance, the latter not yet officially in office
On the same day, Vega held a meeting with representatives of the Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) where they discussed the country’s financial needs.
Vega Malo took the place of Sariha Moya, who was previously announced by the President’s team as the new Minister of Economy and Finance.
