With the purpose of counteracting the negative impacts as a result of the El Niño phenomenon and anomalous waves, the Government of Dina Boluarte ordered the delivery of a second bonus of S/700 for artisanal fishermen who are duly accredited. Artisanal Fisherman Bonus of S/700: who can access it?

This second bonus, which will be granted by the National Fisheries Development Fund (Fondepes), will benefit more than 47,500 artisanal fishermen of our country. According to DU No. 038-2023, the following conditions must be met to access:

  • They must be formally dedicated to artisanal fishing activity, according to the Regulations of the General Fisheries Law, approved by Supreme Decree No. 012-2001-PE.
  • They must be included in the registry of beneficiaries of artisanal fishermen.
  • They should not benefit from other social programs.

Artisanal fisherman: how do I know if I am a beneficiary of the S/700 bonus?

In accordance with article 4 of DU No. 038-2023, artisanal fishermen must be registered in the register of beneficiaries prepared by the General Directorate of Artisanal Fisheries of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production.

Before its approval, the entity in charge must have the massive comparison and verification of data, carried out by the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec). In this way, the registry will be sent to Fondepes within a period of no more than ten calendar days, counted from the business day following receipt of the service request.

In addition, Midis has a period of ten calendar days to verify that the artisanal fisherman is not a beneficiary of social programs. In this sense, your data will be sent to the General Directorate of Artisanal Fisheries of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production, as well as the registry collated by Reniec and Fondepes.

After that, the General Directorate of Artisanal Fisheries of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production proposes the approval and publication of the Register of Beneficiaries of artisanal fishermen, by means of a ministerial resolution.l, which must be issued within five calendar days after receiving the respective information from Fondepes.

Artisanal Fisherman’s Bonus: how and until when can it be collected?

In accordance with the emergency decree issued by the Executive Branch, the General Directorate of Artisanal Fisheries of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production (Produce) has “up to a maximum of twenty days from the entry into force of this rule” to prepare the Register of Beneficiaries of artisanal fishermen. That is, the deadline is Thursday, December 14.

From that date, there are ten more days until the start of the disbursement of the economic bonus, which can be collected until February 28 of next year at the Banco de la Nación agencies.without commissions or expenses to the beneficiary of the subsidy, which are the responsibility of Fondepes.
