On the morning of this Friday, November 24, from 10:28, the pumping of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the Monteverde – El Chorrillo pipeline, located in the provinces of Santa Elena and Guayas, was restarted with a shipment of 12,000 metric tons, which will allow normalization work at 100%, this weekend. This was announced by Petroecuador in a press release.

This disruption in LPG pumping has affected consumers, including taxi drivers who fill LPG to run their units.

The state company recalled that the problems arose on November 19 due to the secret drilling of the oil pipeline, so the pumping was immediately stopped. In order to restore it as soon as possible, the technicians of EP Petroecuador worked without interruption, assures the oil company. After the damage was discovered, stocks at the El Chorrillo clean products terminal dwindled.

Petroecuador is preparing a $1.2 billion spot sale that commits crude until March 2024.

In addition, he stated that during the repairs, LPG deliveries were maintained through 40 tanker trucks from Monteverde with extended hours of operation 24/7 and 600 MT/day from Chorrillo, to guarantee attention to the needs of consumers.
