BCRP issues commemorative coin for the 100 years of the FAP Officers School

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) put into circulation this Thursday, November 23, 2023, a silver coin commemorating the 100 years of founding of the Peruvian Air Force Officer School (FAP).

According to circular No. 0022-2023-BCRP, published today in El Peruano, the coin in question has a denomination of S/1 and is made with a high quality silver alloy, with a purity of 0.925. With a fine weight of 1 troy ounce, a diameter of 37.00 mm and a fluted edge, this numismatic piece highlights Proof quality. It was minted in 2023 and a maximum of 5,000 units will be issued.

On the reverse of the coin, an image is shown whose composition shows the façade of the Officers’ School in the background and in the foreground the entrance porch to the premises with the representative shield of the Officers’ School. Likewise, the legend “CENTENARY OF THE PERU AIR FORCE OFFICER SCHOOL” and the period that is commemorated, “1923 – 2023”.

On the obverse, there is the Coat of Arms, the text “BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ”, the year of minting and the name “UN SOL”.
