The oil spill reported in Tarapoa, Petroecuador shows that it is already under control

On Tuesday, Petroecuador reported that an investigation by RODA personnel determined that the affected pipeline did not belong to the state-owned company. “Lines belonging to other companies pass through this area,” the state oil company said. The company responsible for the pipeline is Andes Petroleum, the operator of block 62.

However, the public company states that clean-up work has continued, such as the installation of absorbent barriers, the construction of protective dams and the collection of crude oil with the help of vacuum trucks (a vehicle consisting of a tank or tank and specialized pumps for sucking liquids, mud or similar materials pneumatically into the tank of trucks) and machines.

Andes Petroleum also intervened in the area

It started around 20:00. “Once we guarantee safe operation, we investigate the causes of the incident,” the company said.

“We are currently implementing an action plan to continue testing the pipeline and clean up all affected areas.
