Why did you delay the announcement of the inauguration of Mall Cencosud in La Molina?
The Chilean business consortium, Cencosud, planned for Mall La Molina to come into operation from the first quarter of 2023. However, a series of disagreements with the municipality of said district delayed the inauguration of the work. Let us remember that the last license issued in 2022 was annulled by Mayor Diego Uceda due to concerns about traffic congestion on Raúl Ferrero Avenue.
In response to the institutional statement from the municipality of La Molina, Cencosud responded that vehicular access through said avenue is based on technical studies that are endorsed by road specialists and that there are mitigation measures in times of high demand, such as the opening of access fences. and the streamlining of traffic inside the shopping center.
In recent statements to Perú Retail, Rodrigo Larrain, from Cencosud Shopping, indicated that the reception and inspection procedures by the city management have advanced, and assured that everything is in good condition for the next opening of the mall. “We understand that it is in the last stage, which has to do with the technical inspection in progress. We have had minor visits and observations that can be rectified in the short term,” he said.
These statements coincide with those of Carlos Neuhaus, president of the Association of Shopping Centers of Peru (ACCEP), who indicated that “next Friday the white march of the project would begin and on “29 (November) it would be inaugurated.”
