The Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contrerasratified this morning the position of his portfolio on the proposal for a new withdrawal of funds from the AFPindicating that the project will be observed if it does not contemplate a limited release of funds.

“We are going to continue coordinating so that, in the event of a seventh withdrawal, it can be limited; However, if it remains the same as it should be, we will observe the bill,” he told the press upon leaving the CADE Executives 2023.

Minister Contreras also reiterated that he was against this new withdrawal because it violates the rights of retirees and puts the reform of the pension system at risk. Pension System. However, he indicated that they will seek to reach a consensus to limit the withdrawal and prevent it from applying to all members.

“The most appropriate path is to be able to reach a consensus, that there be a very limited withdrawal for the unemployed. At this time with the current proposal even the congressmen themselves could withdraw, if the measure is made with the vulnerable group in mind, let’s limit it to those people who are not working or contributing,” he stressed.
