“The Christmas campaign is prepared four months in advance with the expectation that sales will reach S/13,000 million, which represents 40% of annual income,” said Rodolfo Ojeda during the XXII Expo Pyme 2023, a business meeting that It takes place at the CCL headquarters.

The union representative considered that, during these festivities, Peruvian families will demand toy products, clothing, footwear, electronic games, etc. Likewise, expenses will be focused on the purchase of Christmas trees and decorations (lights and spheres), accessories for the central dinner, nativity scenes; among others.

Likewise, Ojeda added that SMEs have also been using various digital strategies to be more competitive in this campaign considering that there are more than 20 million Peruvians who buy online. The social networks most used by SMEs are TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook, whose participation in total sales ranges between 2% and 5%.

“The maelstrom of immediacy and technology has energized commerce; “Social networks are a key tool for entrepreneurs and SMEs to get closer to potential clients,” she commented.

Finally, he mentioned that, due to the inflationary trend, SMEs will increase their prices between 3% and 5% considering the cost of importing products and that in the last three years, businesses, due to the environment of health crisis and instability policy, they maintained their product prices.
