Talara: Government approves License Contract for the Exploitation of Lot Z-69 with Petroperú

The Peruvian Government published the supreme decree that authorizes the return of Petroperú to the operation of its marine platforms in the former Lot Z-2B, now expanded under the name Z-69, for a period of 2 years.

The License Contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Lot Z-69 was made official through DS 027-2023-EM this Monday, November 13, two days before the expiration of the 30-year private contract that governed the marine field, which Its last operator was Savia since 2009.

Previously, the Directorate of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Exploitationas well as the Hydrocarbon Regulatory Directorate -both from the General Directorate of Hydrocarbons (DGH)-, concluded that the temporary commission complies with the requirements established in the Regulation of Article 11 of the Single Ordered Text of the Organic Law of Hydrocarbons (LOH), approved by supreme decree 045-2008 -EM.

The temporary commission of Petroperú in Lot Z-69 consists of 1 preliminary clause, 24 clauses and 6 annexes, to be held between Perupetro and Petroperú, with the intervention of the BCRP to provide the financial guarantees of the case, as ordered by the LOH for all new hydrocarbon operators.

“The validity of the aforementioned contract is two years, counted from the effective date or until the effective date of a new contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons, whichever occurs first,” it appears.

The document bears the signature of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, and the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreras, and of Energy and Mines, Oscar Vera Gargurevich.
