Las Bambas: mining company extends its offer to Chumbivilcas to end the blockade in the corridor

MMG Las Bambas expanded its offer to Chumbivilcas (Cusco) in order to lift the blockade of the mining corridor that has been carried out since last November 20 by residents of this area in search of better salary contracts.

In this regard, it was learned that the copper company proposed for the Chumbivilcas communities a fleet of 14 trucks, 12 vans and investments in projects of S / 1 million per year.

For its part, Chumbivilcas will present a counterproposal and summoned the mining company for this Tuesday in order to analyze its initiative.

Impact

The eventual closure of the Las Bambas mining company would leave more than 9,000 workers without work, in addition to another 70,000 indirect ones offered by transporters, distributors, food suppliers, among others, according to the general secretary of the mine workers union, Erick Ramos Luna. .

In that sense, this Monday 13 hundred workers will go on strike at the national level to demand a solution from the government.
