The use of a credit card is beneficial for its users, as long as it is used responsibly. While it is true that it offers a series of benefits, in many cases this involves an additional payment called membership, a commission that for many people is excessive and they seek to avoid. However, there are two ways in which you can make use of this financial product and avoid charging this amount.

One of these alternatives is offered by some financial entities and the other was established in Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) with the purpose of regulating the actions of some banks. In this note we show you both alternatives

Which financial institutions do not charge membership fees for credit cards?

Through SBS Resolution No. 1870-2020, the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) approved regulations in 2020 that regulate the behavior of banking entities and offer at least one credit card that does not charge membership.   • BBVA Bank: offers the Visa Zero and Fixed Fee credit card.
  • Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP): offers the account with the Visa Light credit card.
  • Interbank: offers the Visa Access and Vea Privada credit cards.
  • Scotiabank: offers the Visa No Membership credit card.
  • Banco Pichincha: offers the Carsa Mastercard credit card.
  • BanBif: offers the BanBif Zero Membership Visa credit card.
  • Banco Falabella: offers the account with the CMR Visa Basic credit card.
  • Ripley Bank: offers the Mastercard Basic credit card.
  • Banco Azteca: offers the credit card called the Azteca Visa / Mastercard Card.
  • GNB Bank: offers three cards: Platinum, Gold and Classic.
  • Banco de Comercio: offers the classic Visa credit card without membership.
  • Financial Oh: offers the Ceroh! credit card
  • Cencosud Scotia: offers the Visa Simple credit card.
