The Labor and Social Security Commissionchaired by Congressman Pasión Dávila, approved this Tuesday, November unanimously recognize volunteer service as work experience and/or pre-professional internships.
The approved opinion, which accumulates Bills 5664/2023-CR, 5768/2023-CR and 5999/2023-CR, seeks to modify the national law on volunteering in order to strengthen the certification processes that are already granted by of organizations that welcome volunteers.
Now, after obtaining the green light from all the commission participants, the PL must be debated in the Plenary Session of the Congress of the Republic.
During the presentation it was stated that currently in Peru there is an expansion of volunteer activities compared to Latin American countries.
“Stimulating this expansion would cause a synergy between the dissemination of altruistic values and the insertion of young people into the world of work,” said Yon Javier Pérez Paredes, technical secretary of the Labor Commission.
