Southern regions received more than S / 3,465 million in transfers from mining

In the first eleven months of the year, the resources generated by the mining activity that were transferred to the regional and local governments of the south of the country exceeded S / 3,465 million, according to the latest edition of the Mining Statistical Bulletin of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem).

The regions included in this group are Apurímac, Arequipa, Cusco, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Puno and Tacna.

Likewise, transfers for the concept of legal and contractual mining royalties between January and November totaled more than S / 2,156 million, situation that was encouraged by high metal prices and increased mining production.

Likewise, the Minem reported that the aforementioned regions received by Right of Validity and Penalty an amount that exceeds the S / 133 million.

Among the departments that accessed the most resources, it is in first place Arequipa, with more than S / 1,446 million; followed by Tacna, with more than S / 627 million; and in third place Cusco, with a figure that exceeds S / 455 million.

Recently, the Minem announced that the southern macro-region presents a portfolio of 21 projects of mine construction, with a joint investment of US $ 26,170 million, which represents 49.2% of the national total, according to the document prepared by the General Directorate for Mining Promotion and Sustainability.
