Myperú Impulse: more than 61,000 businesses accessed loans with an average interest rate of 12.9%

Of the S/5,000 million that the State allocated to guarantee credits To micro, small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs), a total of S/3,594 million has already been allocated to 25 companies in the financial system and 4 cooperatives. Thus, more than 61,000 businesses accessed financing for a total amount of S/1,407 million. This, within the framework of the Mype Business Promotion program (Myperú Impulse).

According to official information from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the beneficiary mypes accessed loans with an average interest rate of 12.9%, which is well below that offered by the Finance system for loans to MSMEs. In addition, companies enjoy a grace period of up to 12 months, during which time only interest is paid.

In detail, 62% of credits granted was allocated for fixed assets and working capital, while 38% of the loans were used for debt consolidation. Companies from Lima (20.4%), Puno (15.2%) and Piura (10.2%) account for 45.8% of the total beneficiaries. Meanwhile, 48.4% of the financing granted is in Lima (23.4%), Puno (15.8%) and Arequipa (9.1%).

“This is something very important for the reactivation, considering that Puno was very affected in the first quarter and Piura was affected in the second quarter by the El Niño phenomenon,” said the head of the MEF, Alex Contreras.

How to access Impulso Myperú?

The program Myperú Impulse provides a State guarantee for MSMEs to finance their economic recovery process, which has the lowest interest rate in the financial market. The deadline for companies to access these credits is until March 31, 2024.

The financing that MSMEs can access is between S/30,000 and S/1 million, which they can pay in up to five years, a time that includes a grace period of 12 months, as well as a Good Payer Bonus (BBP), a benefit that is activated by punctuality in payments. Micro, small and medium-sized businesses in all productive sectors can apply for credit.
