Osinergmin: How to reduce the electricity bill at home?

Saving is essential for families, They must take into account the economy at home. Therefore, it is vital to reduce electricity and energy costs. In this sense, the Supervisory Body for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin) provides some recommendations to users.

First of all, it is advisable to replace the incandescent bulbs and savings by LEDs. With the same level of lighting, this type of bulb consumes up to nine times less than other types.

For example, the use of a total of 8 incandescent light bulbs in different areas of the house can represent a monthly consumption of up to S/ 120 on the electricity bill. So, If the 8 lights were LED, this expense could drop to S/ 12 per month.

In addition, incandescent bulbs have a useful life of 1,000 hours, energy savers 8,000, while LEDs last up to 50,000 hours. In other words, while an LED can work for 15 years on 8 hours a day, an incandescent will barely last 4 months with the same use.

The entity also highlights the importance of consulting the label of energy efficiency when purchasing a light bulb or appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, among others.

In detail, equipment with the letters A, B and C have lower energy consumption and, therefore, are more efficient. On the other hand, those with the letters D and E have average consumption, and those with F and G will have high energy consumption.

Finally, Osinergmin also reminds users to take advantage of sunlight, as well as avoid energy losses in light bulbs turned on in environments that are not being used.
