Artificial intelligence is advancing by leaps and bounds and has now arrived from China to our country, directly to Gamarra. In the large commercial emporium, small textile entrepreneurs have begun to use technology to make clothing.
We interviewed the general secretary of the Gamarra Peru Association, Kelly Johnsonwho detailed the benefits that these revolutionary machines offer us, how much time and money textile entrepreneurs save by using AI and highlighted that the Productivity increased by 20%.
“If you are working on a thin fabric, the machine will know what it is working on and will treat it like a princess, and if you are working with a thick fabric, the machine will put force into it because it already knows and understands what you’re doing and it’s going to work correctly without changing the stitch,” he said.
The businesswoman added: “We save money, resources and downtime of the operator, the person who is cooking is not going to stop every time to condition the machine and make a change; this machine adapts to the changes that are taking place now in the world, for example fast fashion, this means changing clothes, changing models, making different types of fashion, I put leather on the jean, metal on the polo shirt. Now it’s no longer about doing simple things, but in Peru we also have to be “to the fashion they make in Colombia and Brazil”.

According to information on the official Jack brand website, this sewing machine has an AI chip, called Octopus Nine-Brain, with intelligent perception and real-time response to fabric changes. With its needle it identifies the fabrics and automatically sends instructions to the motor. Thanks to this rapid perception of fabric changes, this machine can adjust the rhythm of the synergy between the fabric feeding force and the needle penetration force.
