Housing prices would have fallen in September, according to Capeco

According to the Peruvian Chamber of Construction (Capeco), housing prices in Lima and Callao for the second quarter of the year (April-June) had a drop of 0.5% compared to the period from January to March. This trend will also be replicated for the third quarter of 2023, which covers the period from July to September.

“We are processing the data for the third quarter and we are going to present it in the coming days, but the most likely thing is that the decline will continue“said Guido Valdivia, executive director of Capeco, during the presentation of the Construction Economic Report No. 70.

In that sense, it is important to specify that the average prices per square meter (m²) in metropolitan Lima for the first three months of 2023 amounted to S/7,338, while in the third quarter the amounts reached S/7,304.

In detail, homes in Lima Top (San Isidro, Miraflores, La Molina, Surco and San Borja) had a decline of -0.8%, while in Lima Moderna (Jesús María, Lince, Magdalena, Pueblo Libre and San Miguel ), values ​​decreased by 1.1%.

For its part, the costs of homes located in Central Lima fell by 0.5% and in Callao, the contraction was 4.3%.
