The opening of the first location of Krispy Kreme, the world-famous donut brand, in Ecuador is creating anticipation among customers who want to be the first to discover the new establishment that will open this Thursday morning, October 26, at Moderna Plaza, in Samborondon. Since the night of October 25, customers have been waiting in front of the bar where they stand in line to be the first to enter the next morning.

Even more so when the brand activated a promotion for the first 200 customers who entered the store. Footage of customers lining up in the store’s parking lot began to circulate on social networks.

To enter the opening of the first Krispy Kreme® location in Moderna Plaza, the Samborondón, Ecuador location, among other requirements, the following guidelines must be met in the entry queue:

Ecuador becomes the second country in South America for Krispy Kreme to enter, after Chile, where they have four locations, and they are added to more than 13,000 stores that the brand has around the world.

According to Krispy Kreme’s director of international operations, Miguel Méndez, the brand’s goal is to open stores in three to five countries a year. Apart from Chile, whose stores were opened last April, this year they opened stores in Costa Rica, Jamaica, Switzerland, among others.

The brand arrives in Ecuador with an initial investment of one million dollars. Four more stores are planned for the rest of 2023, including in Guayaquil at San Marino Shopping, and in 2024 it will also expand to Quito.
