During the inauguration, which was attended by the Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries, Daniel Legarda, the president of CNA, José Antonio Camposano, highlighted the challenges of the sector that currently focus on the uncertainty that affects its business. “We are facing deep and complex challenges. On the one hand, in Ecuador, the insecurity that has affected our business and our lives cannot be ignored… We have raised our voices and will continue to demand concrete actions that will restore the peace we need to develop our activities without fear,” said the CNA chief.

He added that this crisis was further exacerbated by the collapse of all the markets where Ecuador sells its shrimp, which, unfortunately, according to Camposan, are largely out of the sector’s control.

Meanwhile, at Aquaexpo, 60 international and Ecuadorian experts will share their knowledge through presentations and discussion panels. The event is sponsored by: Agrobimsa, BioMar, Banco Guayaquil, Cargill, DSM, Nicovita, USSEC and Skretting
