Price of onion falls to S/2 per kilogram in the retail market of Metropolitan Lima

Lemon is another product that, after reaching highs close to S/20 per kilogram, has registered a considerable reduction in recent days. At the wholesale level, the subtle lemon in a bag at the wholesaler was sold this morning at S/3 per kilogram, while the subtle lemon in a box at S/3.70. Meanwhile, in retail supply centers it was offered between S/4 and S/6 per kilogram.

On the other hand, the price of wholesale chicken remains stable, reaching S/5.82 per kilogram today in the main live bird distribution centers in the capital. While in retail markets it was sold between S/9 and S/10 per kilogram. For its part, the wholesale price of eggs continues to decline and is priced at S/8 per kilogram in retail establishments, selling between S/8.8 and S/9 per kilogram.

Supply in the wholesale market

In the Great Wholesale Market of Lima (GMML), the entry of 5,628 tons of products including legumes, vegetables and tubers was recorded; as well as 506 tons of potatoes of various varieties, according to Midagri.

The main wholesale offers this morning were: yellow sweet potato at S/0.41 kilogram; purple sweet potato at S/0.78 per kilogram; yellow cassava at S/0.93 kilogram; yungay potato at S/0.94 kilogram; single potato at S/1.26 kilogram; mountain green bean at S/1.33 kilogram; carrot at S/1.44 kilogram; macre squash at S/1.45 kilogram, among others.

Meanwhile, in the Fruit Market No. 2 of La Victoria, the entry of 2,522 tons of different fruits was recorded. Today’s main offers are: the Valencia orange at S/0.85 kilogram; watermelon at S/0.85 kilogram; coquito melon at S/1.15 kilogram; banana cake at S/1.18 kilogram; Hawaiian pineapple at S/1.25 kilogram; papaya at S/1.46 kilogram; tangelo orange at S/1.76 kilogram; apple for water at S/1.98 kilogram, among others.
