The SRI will suspend vehicle tax services from December 31 to January 13

Taxes corresponding to the 2021 fiscal period may be paid, without interest, until December 30.

Vehicle tax services that are administered by the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) will be suspended from December 31 to January 13, the institution reported. This is due to the annual configuration of the values ​​to be paid for the next fiscal period.

Users will be able to complete the procedures until December 30. The SRI will attend in all its agencies the requests related to vehicle taxes, as well as the payment of these taxes and other items that make up the registration in financial institutions. The options in the “Vehicles” section will also be enabled, which are activated with a username and password on the portal www.sri.gob.ec.

In addition, until December 22, the following requests will be received:

  • Trades received through the Quipux Document Management System
  • Procedures entered through the Secretariat (category creations, contract reversals, among others)
  • Procedures entered through the online SRI portal (category creations, contract reversals, vehicle characteristics updates, exemptions, among others)
  • Procedures entered by the Single Portal of Citizen Procedures (exonerations).
  • Requests for the exemption of vehicles intended for public transport and vehicles intended for productive activities of the taxpayer, which are entered in a jurisdiction other than the one registered in the applicant’s RUC system or which are subject to a verification process of the economic activity ( VAE)
  • Mass exoneration procedures

The SRI recalled that the vehicle tax values ​​for the 2021 fiscal period may be paid until December 30 of this year, without an interest surcharge. (I)
