Exporters believe that the population wants the growth of companies and the creation of new jobs

For his part, Felipe Rivadeneira, president of the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters (Fedexpor), analyzes the victory of Nobo Azín as a sign that Ecuador is “tired of this conflict between politicians”, and that the population is looking for the expansion of the private sector to reduce unemployment rates.

What awaits the new president of Ecuador

“They no longer want conflict; They want the reconstruction of ideas, building consensus, building solutions, and what is clear and I believe that the candidate Nobo represents is the hope that wealth will be created in the country and jobs will be created from the private sector. (. ..). What the population is looking for is precisely the expansion of the private sector; This is the hope of the people so that the companies and entrepreneurs that are being established have legal security and that the companies continue to grow so that they can create jobs”, analyzes the export leader.

He adds that the issue of security is also related to the victory of Nobo Azín: “That there is a peaceful country, that there is a way to work and how to create wealth, and I think that is what the candidate of Nobo represents.”

Business people give confidence, but will be attentive to management

The business community in general gives a “vote of confidence” to the new government, as stated by Miguel Ángel González, president of the Ecuadorian Business Committee (CEE), who, however, clarifies that the sector will always be aligned with the country and not with the government.

“We always start with a vote of confidence in the democratically elected government. Our loyalty is to the country and we have a responsibility to build bridges and help the elected authorities. If we see that their actions are going against the country, then we will raise our voice”, warns González.

“We hope that the new government knows how to put the state above particular interests, to work for the common good; also that it is open to cooperation with different sectors of civil society. A closed government is separated from citizens,” says the head of the Committee for the Economy.

It indicates that the public and private sectors must work together to solve the problems that affect the population. And furthermore, for the Government to be the axis of the agreement to achieve manageability. “The country needs a consensus for security, investment and employment. And for that, it is necessary that the political forces can come to an agreement. An articulated state and an organized civil society are needed to lift Ecuador up,” says González.
