Refund to 1.2 million Fonavistas begins in December

After the observations of the Executive Branch, Congress approved by insistence the opinion that modifies the Law of Refund of Money of the National Housing Fund (Law No. 29625) so that the Fonavi Ad Hoc Commission speeds up the remuneration process.

It is worth mentioning that this is a partial refund charged to a subsequent cancellation that will be made available from the S/2,000 million fund held by the fonavistas and another S/50 million provided by this year’s public budget.

The substantial change endorsed in the last Plenary Session – by 94 legislators – is that “paves the way to comply with the payment from the fortnight of December“, according to Luis Luzuriaga, Fonavista leader and president of the Ad Hoc Commission, since previously it was established that the reimbursement began with a certificate of contributions with the total to be recognized, and not so much with a certificate of payment on account, as mandated by the proposal.

Who will be the first to receive?

“We are one million 200,000 Fonavistas accredited in the registry, who will present their contribution documents. According to the contribution brackets, what corresponds to each one will be determined, since the discount percentages vary,” he told La República.

Fonavistas over 60 years of age will be prioritized, as well as those registered with the National Council for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (Conadis) and those who have a serious or terminal illness, whether owners or relatives.

However, Luzuriaga adds that those Fonavistas who have not received a single sol in the 19 delivery lists published before the pandemic They will also be in this new remuneration. “They will surely be given something more to equate them with the rest,” she pointed out.

Luzuriaga demanded that President Dina Boluarte approve the ruling that has only simplified administrative entanglements to comply with the start of disbursements, planned by the Ad Hoc Commission, for the fortnight of December.

Abandonment

Antolin Castillo He is a nonagenarian who, like thousands of Fonavistas, complied with presenting his documentation in 2019 to be reimbursed for the money he contributed to the Fonavi when I worked for a state mineral company, but to date he has not received a single sol.

Fonavi does not address his concerns and only tells him to “wait and see if it comes out in December or not.” Antolín has the joy of being supported by his daughter María Elena, but he reflects on his contemporaries who must deal with him.

The data
