Wholesale lemon price drops up to 64% in the first two weeks of October

The wholesale price of lemon continues its downward trend and this Friday, October 13, it reached its lowest level so far this month, falling to S/3.22 per kilogram in its presentation on the stock market. This is due to a greater volume of supply and a stock above 90%, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri).

According to data from the Midagri Price Supply System (SISAP), so far in October The wholesale price of lemon in the bag has fallen 64.46%, starting at S/9.06 per kilogram.

For its part, boxed lemon has registered a decrease of 52.55% in its wholesale prices in the same period, after falling from S/9.40 per kilogram on October 1 to S/4.46 the kilogram this Friday.

This Friday, 432 tons of Lemon entered the Great Wholesale Market of Lima (GMML), which is 31.02% more than the average volume of 298 tons registered in the last 4 Fridays.

Supply grows in wholesale markets

This Friday, the GMML registered the entry of 7,121 tons of products including legumes, vegetables and tubers, a volume higher by 5.1% compared to the last four Fridays. Likewise, 2,410 tons of potatoes of various varieties were registered, an amount higher by 2.4% in relation to the last four Fridays.

The main wholesale offers this morning were yellow sweet potato at S/0.58 per kilogram; purple sweet potato at S/0.88 per kilogram; Yungay potato at S/0.89 per kilogram; yellow cassava at S/0.93 per kilogram; single potato at S/1.03 per kilogram; red head onion at S/1.10 per kilogram; carrot at S/1.1 per kilogram; macre squash at S/1.38 per kilogram; green mountain beans at S/1.40 per kilogram, among others.

Meanwhile, in the Fruit Market No. 2 of La Victoria, the entry of 2,224 tons of different fruits was recorded. Today’s main offers are the Valencia orange at S/0.86 per kilogram; watermelon at S/0.98 per kilogram; banana cake at S/1.05 per kilogram; Creole pineapple at S/1.23 per kilogram; coquito melon at S/1.23 per kilogram; papaya at S/1.52 per kilogram; Malvaceae mandarin at S/1.73 per kilogram; grated cucumber at S/1.85 per kilogram, among others.

Chicken remains stable

Midagri reported that the price of chicken remains stable without variation, and is sold today at S/5.82 per kilogram in the main distribution centers for live birds in the capital, while the wholesale price of eggs continues at the same level. drops and is quoted today at less than S/8.30 per kilogram.
