MEF: German airlines evaluate reopening direct routes from Germany to Peru

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreraswho together with President Dina Boluarte is in Germany to promote foreign investments in Peru, highlighted the interest of airlines from said country to reopen direct routes to Peruvian territory.

“There are German airlines that are once again evaluating reopening direct routes from Germany to Peru. That undoubtedly promotes tourism,” he commented in an interview with TV PerĂº.

Likewise, Contreras emphasized that one of the main advantages of these meetings has been the perception of a favorable environment for investment in Peru, with emphasis on political stability and openness to international trade.

The official expressed confidence that, after the tour, the country will experience a significant increase in private investment, which will have a positive impact on the Peruvian economy.

Furthermore, he highlighted that a particularly striking aspect of this tour has been the interest of German companies in investing in green hydrogen, an industry that promises to be beneficial, particularly for the Peruvian Amazon.

Finally, he highlighted the importance of the Global Gateway project, a European Union initiative aimed at investing in Latin America that coincides with Peru’s agenda to promote infrastructure and sustainable development in the Amazon.

“It is an agenda to promote infrastructure, develop our Amazon with opportunities for citizens. Something that many infrastructure companies have recognized is the key role that Peru will play in Latin America,” he mentioned.
