A delegation of ten Ecuadorian companies is participating in the new edition of the Anuga fair held in Cologne, Germany. The opening of the event, which promotes the offer of food and drinks, took place on Saturday, October 7 and will last until Wednesday, October 11.

This international fair is one of the most important for presenting trends and innovations in the food and beverage industry. In addition, it is estimated to receive more than 169,000 people from 201 countries, according to ProEcuador.

Companies from Ecuador participating in the five-day event are Ecuaconservas, Kiwa, Snacks Foods, Samai, Kuntu Vainilla, Nova Alimentos, Karay Natural Foods, Proal Foods, Puertomar and GuanaVida.

Each of them will present a catalog of their products, which include heart of palm, preserved fruit, snackscanned fish, fruit pulp, IQF vegetables, coconut flour and vanilla.

The fair features more than 7,800 exhibitors from 118 countries, including Canada, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. In addition, Italy, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Austria, Netherlands, Thailand, Turkey, Spain, Canada, Morocco, India, France, Greece, Lebanon, Vietnam, China, Poland, Egypt, among others.

At this year’s edition, the central theme is ‘Sustainable growth’, in which, according to the organizers, it will be examined in more detail how the contradictory priorities of economic growth and sustainability in the field of nutrition can be reconciled. Furthermore, what aspects does sustainable growth offer and what paths and solutions are possible at the global level.
