He Dorado Asset Management and VanEck as External Manager The VanEck El Dorado Peru ETF (ETFPERUD) has been trading for three years. which is characterized by being one of the largest passively managed funds in Peruvian shares in the local market. To commemorate it, they held a bell ringing at the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL).
The Peru ETF has been part of the BVL since October 15, 2020 and began operations on March 12, 2021 with an initial equity of US$10 million. which has increased six times and currently has US$67 million. It should be noted that it is also the first Peruvian stock fund listed on BVL, and that it allows access to the largest and most liquid companies in the Peruvian market.
“The objective of the fund is to replicate the S&P/BVL Peru Select 20% Capped Index, which includes the largest and most liquid companies (blue chips) listed on the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL). In terms of performance, it has closely followed the behavior of the index, with a total return of 8.61% so far in 2023 (closing figure for September)”, highlighted Melvin Escudero, CEO of El Dorado.
Apart from the growth of assets, the BVL L reported that ETFPERUD gave access to 245 local and international investors.
“This ETF provides investors with access to a diversified portfolio of Peruvian companies, which also contributes to the liquidity of the underlying stocks included in the index. On the other hand, foreign investors obtain an additional instrument for direct exposure to the Peruvian economy. All of this contributes to expanding and strengthening our capital market infrastructure,” said Francis Stenning, General Manager of the BVL Group.
