Coffe for everybody. Producers organized in cooperatives in the Incahuasi valley, province of La Convencion (Cusco), achieved the highest scores in the III National Fairtrade Coffee Competition “Golden Cup 2023”.
The producers who work under Fair Trade standards provoked great interest among international tasters and representatives of the international roasters that most purchase fine coffees with the FLO seal.
The coffees from producers from the Cajamarca cooperatives also stood out, especially from Jaen and San Ignacio, whose farms are located at altitudes of 1,800 meters above sea level.
In the category of microlots, The first place was occupied by the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Valle de Incahuasi, with 88.40 cup quality points, followed by the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera San Fernando, with 87.85 points, both from Cusco. Third place went to the Sol & Café Multiple Services Cooperative, from Cajamarca, reaching 87.56 points.
While, in the category of full containersfirst place went to the Association of Agricultural Producers Perfiles Coffee Perú, from Cajamarca, with 85.54 cup quality points.
Second place went to the San Fernando Agrarian Cafetalera Cooperative, with 84.52 points, and third place was occupied by the Valle del Inca Agrarian Association, with 84.29 points; the last two from Cusco.
