The Guayaquil branch of the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) and the National Corporation of Poultry Growers of Ecuador (Conave) have joined the Corporation of Exporters Guilds of Ecuador (Cordex) as new supporters.
The organization, which was founded on August 11, 2021, indicates that the merger of the two unions, whose approval was carried out at the board meeting, “will significantly contribute to the promotion of a commercial program based on intelligent negotiation of agreements, promotion of competitiveness and sustainability of exports, while proposing an alternative to reduce costs and improve the productivity of export goods.”

According to Cordex, they represent more than 75% of the country’s non-oil and mining exports. Likewise, the organization indicates that its impact in 2022 “was significant” socially and economically, generating nearly 900,000 direct jobs and representing more than $13 billion in foreign exchange.
Cordex indicates that Amcham is a non-profit organization that aims to promote commercial and governmental relations between Ecuador and the United States, thereby creating bilateral business and investment opportunities.

As for Conave, it is pointed out that this union gathers approximately 80% of animal protein producers in Ecuador. In addition, it leads health and environmental initiatives and the promotion of the consumption of this type of meat, mainly aimed at strengthening the export activity of this sector.
