After almost two years since entering the Ecuadorian market, Equair has suspended its operations in Ecuador as of this Saturday.

The airline, which started flights to Coca a few days ago, woke up from its website this Saturday with only an announcement to check the status of tickets. There was no more corporate information or ticketing.

“If you need to check the status of your ticket, you can contact us through our specialized service at contact numbers,” said the statement, which added several numbers.

“We thank you for your patience and understanding, as well as for the trust you have placed in us,” the statement reads.

The airline opened its activities with up to 66 weekly flights between Quito and Guayaquil, 12 to the Galapagos Islands and up to 10 frequencies to El Coca.

This company achieved a market share of up to 17% on the routes it flew.

On domestic routes, it competed with Latam, Avianca and Aeroregional. He also operated charter flights.

“We want to express our gratitude to all our allies, human capital, suppliers and all of Ecuador for opening their doors to us and making Equair a reality. Today, we look to the future and focus on new challenges brought by today’s world, in a dynamic environment that forces us to adapt to changes in an agile and strategic way,” he said.

The airline indicated that, for the peace of mind of its passengers, Equair has defined a process to provide a timely solution to all customers who have already made a previous purchase.

In this context, through a non-profit passenger protection agreement, Latam Airlines Ecuador has made available seats on its planes to take them to their destinations at no additional cost.
