MTC: more than S / 599 million were executed in connectivity projects between January and November

Between January and November 2021, a execution in investments for connectivity of S / 599.2 million, according to the National Telecommunications Program (Pronatel), an entity attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC).

This amount represents 208% more with respect to the accumulated average of the first 11 months of each year between 2017 and 2020, which was S / 288 million. This means that 73.3% of the Modified Institutional Budget (PIM) has been accrued to accelerate the deployment of fiber optics nationwide with the objective that more Peruvians have access to the internet and digital development.

Likewise, they reported that accruals for the first 11 months of the year have been achieved in broadband projects in 15 regions of the country. In this last month, the main advances were presented by the projects in the regions of Puno with an execution of S / 13.1 million, Ica with S / 7.3 million, Huánuco with S / 5.3 million and Pasco with S / 3.5 million.

The projects in Tacna and Moquegua carry out connectivity tests which will be 100% completed in the first quarter of 2022, while Ica and Junín will be ready for the second period of that year.

In addition, the commissioning of the internet service in 14 digital access center of the Lambayeque region and in 34 public spaces in Cusco, within the framework of the Everyone Connected plan.

On the other hand, they indicated that last June incorporated S / 346 million in institutional budget, in order to continue financing the advancement of telecommunications projects in various parts of the country.
