AFP: present new bill to authorize withdrawal of up to S/19,800

Congresswoman Kelly Portalatino, of Free Peru, presented an initiative to authorize the voluntary withdrawal of up to S/19,800 (4 UIT) from AFP funds. In the document, it points out that climatic anomalies, as well as food inflation, are harming the budget of Peruvian families; Given this, with this proposal, he would seek to mitigate this impact. In total, there would be 12 initiatives presented in Congress with the same objective.

Bill No. 6021, presented on September 28, states that the withdrawal of contributions would be carried out in the following way: within a period of 90 calendar days, the member may make his or her request virtually or in person only once. Up to 50% of the amount requested will be paid within a maximum period of 30 calendar days and the remaining balance within a maximum of 90 days after the first disbursement.

Furthermore, it is provided that the Superintendence of Banking and Insurance (SBS) Have 15 business days from the publication of the standard to prepare the operational plan.

“It is appropriate to carry out measures that allow the figures of the national economy to be restored, to boost the family economy and by the private sector, the demand for compliance with social responsibility towards Peruvian society, which in complicated cases like the ones we are experiencing, these actions will be significant”, is specified in the document.

It is important to note that the president of the Economy Commission, Cesar Revilla, from Fuerza Popular, reported that in the first week of October the presentations of the bills that aim to authorize a seventh withdrawal from pension funds will begin to be scheduled. In this way, Portalatino’s initiative can also be evaluated before reaching the Plenary Session for debate and voting.
