How much money should EsSalud provide if my family member dies?
EsSalud indicates on its official website that the amount amounts to S/2,070, maximum, and it is money that is given to the immediate family member of the deceased insured, whether active or pensioner.
Those who can access this money are family members in the following order: spouse or common-law partner, children, parents, adult brother or sister or third party.
What are the requirements to access the EsSalud funeral benefit?
We explain what you need to do to be awarded money for your family member’s funeral.
- The insured holder must have three consecutive months of contributions or four non-consecutive ones within the six calendar months prior to the month in which their death occurred.
- The insured must have a employment relationship at the time of death.
- In case it is pensioner, maintain your condition of pensioners at the time of the contingency.
- The deceased affiliated with the Complementary Risk Work Insurance (SCTR) cannot receive this benefit.
