In that same line, Airports of Peru announced that commercial flights from Lima to Huaraz or vice versa will resume next year, as they are working on the rehabilitation of the Anta airport runway in Huaraz.

The concessionaire in charge of operating airports in the country indicated in its statement that during the first half of 2024, commercial flights will resume, which will have a duration of 50 minutes. Likewise, the manager of Aeropuertos del Perú, Evans Avendañoadded that work is being carried out at the air terminal with the intention of making the landing strip more resistant and able to accommodate type 320 aircraft.

“It is an investment of 15 million dollars that we should be finishing in December, the rehabilitation of the runways. The terminal, the small expansion, should be ready in approximately March and I believe that in the second quarter Anta should be receiving regular commercial flights for the first time in its history,” declared to RPP.

When will tickets start selling?

Currently, the director of Aeropuertos del Perú considers that tickets to go from Lima to Huaraz can be sold 4 or 5 months before the terminal operations begin and hopes that it will be operational by April 2024.
